Handling of personal data
Personal data is information through which a natural person can be determined, i.e. information through which a person can be identified. This type of information includes in particular names, email addresses, matriculation numbers or phone numbers. However, personal data also include data related to personal preferences, hobbies, and memberships as well as visited websites.
We only collect, use and pass on personal data if this is permitted by law or the user has given consent to data collection.
Using personal data of students for study-related purposes is largely based on current Hessian Higher Education Law in connection with the current Matriculation Regulation of the region of Hesse and thereby relates to EU GDPR Article 6 Section 1 c).
The data of employees of Goethe University Frankfurt for the purpose of HR administration as well as for teaching, research and examination activities are collected and processed on the basis of the Hessian Higher Education Act, the Matriculation Regulation of the region of Hesse, collective labour agreement TV-GU as well as regulations related to civil-service and staff-related rights.

Purpose and Period of the Data Recording
Your personal data are only stored for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose of the storage or in accordance with laws, statutes, regulations, guidelines or rules. Once the purpose has been served or become redundant, your data are locked or deleted. In case of locking, deletion follows, if legal, statutory or contractual retention periods do not require storage, there is no reason to believe that a deletion would damage your protectable interests and a deletion does not cause an inappropriately high effort due to the special kind of storage.
Involvement of Third Party Services

EUniTa/GU offers you to register for free and to participate in the Tandem Section of the Site.
In order to access the Tandem Section, you will have to register for free and provide your full name and e-mail address in order to create an account. You will be prompted to confirm your registration in an e-mail to your e-mail account. EUniTa/GU will not verify your name, but the name provided when registering will appear on language certificates.
EUniTa/GU offers two different certificates: The basic certificate will be issued after completion of the five basic Learning Units within the certificate section. The comprehensive certificate will be issued after completion of all Learning Units within the certificate section. To complete the Learning Units, you must master an individual test for the respective Learning Units within the certificate section. If you are a registered user, your progress (tests you have taken after a Learning Unit) will be saved in a database. If the basic Learning Units have been completed within the certificate section, the basic certificate will be unlocked and can be downloaded and printed out by you. The comprehensive certificate will be unlocked if you have completed all Learning Units within the certificate section.
